Project Life Tuesday (Wednesday) Week #5

Photobucket

I have been sick and that is my only excuse. :) Better late than never. It was a bad week to get sick because along with Project Life Tuesday I also started the Joy of Love on the first of the month. So after this first picture, all my February pictures will be from the Joy of Love photography project.
Monday, January 31, 2011
Randy chose the Macaroni Grill for his 44th birthday dinner. This is always a good choice. And because he had to take his car in to get fixed, he was home hours earlier than usual. So we were almost the first people there. We all love to eat there and had some great food. :-) Happy Birthday, Honey!! You are now 2 years older than me, for at least a month and a half.

The photography prompt for today was "What they do". And this is what Christian does, besides video games and reading. He swims twice a week during the school year and 5 days a week during the summer. He is not a team sport player, unless it is a swim relay. It works for him and I am not spending my weekends at some field or another.

Wednesday, February 2, 2011
Today's prompt was "How they look". And this is how the twins look almost every minute they are together. One is always "hugging" the other and some screaming is involved. It is all good until someone starts to cry.

Thursday, February 3, 2011
This days prompt was "Then & Now". Again I had to go with the twins. This first picture was taken in the NICU when they were a little over a month old, still less than 4 pounds each. The next picture shows them now, at 6 1/2. Sebastian still weighs more. :-)

Friday, February 4, 2011
The prompt was "What they wear". Christian is always in shorts. I finally got him to wear a pair of jeans a few days this winter during the heavy rains. The flip flops are the only shoes he will wear when not at school. He claims to never be cold and even if he was, I don't think he would admit it.

Saturday, February 5, 2011
Today's prompt was "Love to hate". Xander chews his nails, even his toe nails. It drives me crazy. I even went out and bought No-Bite nail polish, but it didn't slow him down one bit.

Sunday, February 6, 2011
And this day's prompt was "Who they love" I was going to take a picture of them with eachother, but this photo made more sense to me. They both love our iPhones. The minute homework is done, they are asking for both of our phones. At this time, the plan is to make them into iTouches when we upgrade in a few months. That should make them happy.

Project Life Tuesday Week #4

Monday, January 24, 2011
For many weeks, I was so excited for my Focus on Photos class to start. And now that it has, I seem to have no time to devote to it. I think I am about a week behind. Hopefully I can catch up this weekend.

Tuesday, January 25, 2011
I took Sebastian for his first eye doctors appointment with Dr. Benz. He was a good boy even though Xander had to miss it because he was home sick. She did say that he will probably need glasses in the next few years - near sighted just like Mom.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011
Poor Xander, he was so sick that he ate nothing for 2 days and didn't even want to play ideo games. Bu he was boucing back to his old goofy self soon after I took this picture.

Thursday, January 27, 2011
This was my first fieldtrip with my 6th graders and my first time to hike at the Charmlee Wilderness Park. The view of Malibu was just beautiful.

Friday,January 28, 2011
Randy went with the twins on their fieldtrip to see the Chinese Acrobats. From what I heard, it was a great show. I am jealous, but I have gone on other trips with them and this was Daddy's first time chaperoning for them.

Saturday, January 28, 2011
When I picked up my new glasses last week, I was so excited because it felt like forever that I had my old ones. Then I found out that I had had them almost 10 years. Wow! I thought I should take a picture of all 3 pairs that I still have. I amazes me how much smaller and lighter my new ones are compared to the 2 older pairs.
Sunday, April 30,2011
I took the twins to a classmates birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's and this was the first game they played. It took me all of 2 seconds to recognize it as the one the played continuously while we were in Las Vegas last summer. They are still pretty good at it. :-)

5 people 12 ways

My goal is to take a family picture every month. So here is our January family picture. Randy's birthday dinner was the perfect place to start. I hope to use our tripod for most of the pictures. I think it will be great fun to see how we change in the next year, especially seeing Christian become a teenager. :-)

Project Life Tuesday - Week 3

Monday, January 17, 2011

I had seen these cupcakes on http://www.bakerella.com/ and really wanted to tey them out. They turned out very yummy.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Sebastian came home today with a great Star Wars picture that he drew at Debbie's house. He was very excited that I wanted to take a picture of it.

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Christian wanted to show off his first bullseye. :-)

Thursday, January 20, 2011

This is a view that I have every Tuesday and Thursday during the school year(everyday during the summer). Christian is happy that even after a few weeks off, he shaved some time off. I think it might be because of his growth spurt. :-)

Friday, January 21, 2011

Time again for the twins to get a haircut. It just grows so fast. It makes me happy that they don't mind it because Christian used to scream at the mention of a haircut.

Saturday, January 21, 2011

We finally made it to Becca's birthday party. It has been years since the last time it worked in our schedule. Even Christian wanted to make a bear.

Sunday, January 23, 2011

It was very foggy both days of our Central Valley trip. I had some fun playing with the different color settings on my camera.

These are some earrings that I finished making on Tuesday.

Wednesday, January 12,2011
A big day for Christian, he got his braces on.

Thursday, January 13, 2011
No picture, but I should have taken one at the ortho's office when I had to take Christian back to have his wire clipped after a bracket fell off.
Friday, January 14, 2011
Our 16th wedding anniversary. We should have taken pictures during our dinner out at O'Sabi. I guess the food as too good. :-) But here is a picture of my cards.

Saturday, January 15, 2011
Here Christian is trying out the new bow his grandparents gave him for Christmas. He loves it and practiced the whole time we were in San Diego.
Sunday, January 16, 2011
The boys feel asleep on our way home. :-)

Stamped Jewelry

In 2010 I added another hobby. It is a sickness, I know. But a fun one. I started stamping on silver to give as gifts. They are not good enough to sell, but they do make me happy and I am getting a little better. I forgot to take pictures of my most recent ones before I gave them away. I might have to ask those people if I can borrow them for a bit. :-)

Greatest Cupcake Search

This last summer we decided that our family needed to go on a quest to find the best cupcake. I know, as quests go, it is not a hard one. But it is fun and tasty. I had meant to document this quest as we went, but here we are almost 6 months later. Oh well, better late than never.

Our first stop was at Chrushcakes in Santa Barbara. 7/10/2010
We took our niece Rebecca with us. If you know Santa Barbara, you know what a trouble parking can be. But we lucked out.

They were good and average sized, but a little dry. The kids really enjoyed them. We plan on going to their new store in Carpenteria when it opens soon. I want to be able to compare them to the recent stops.

Stop #2 was Frosting Ink in Bakersfield. 8/11/2010 http://www.frostingink.net/charming_cupcakes.html

This was an unplanned visit. We were in town to pick up my mom at the Greyhound station on our way to Las Vegas and saw the store across the street. These were very good and a larger size than crushcakes for less money. They made a nice treat while driving through the desert and kept the kids occupied for a bit.

Stop #3 was The Cupcakery at the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino. 8/14/2010

These were good, but I am not sure if they were worth the long walk from our hotel and then the maze we had to navigate to find the place. I think only one of my nephews noticed the scantily clad dancing girl above the poker table. We met some girls that were there for their bachelorette party. They had ordered a tray filled with little cups of the different frostings offered. Looked like fun and tasty. Might need to try that next visit.

Stop #4 was Babycakes in San Diego. 11/25/2010

These were the best up to this point. Very, very good! I really want to go back and try some of their other flavors like the blood orange. Actually, I want to go back and eat in their coffee shop. It looked wonderful.

Stop # 5 was The Cupcake Store in Mission Viejo. 11/27/2010
http://www.thecupcakestoreonline.com/

Yes, we went to two cupcake stores in one weekend. But it was so worth it. These were the best by far. They all come topped with a gumball and tasted wonderful!! They had some really cute holiday ones that the kids wanted to try, maybe next time.
Stop #6 was Sugar Bear's Cupcake Shake in Ventura. 12/4/2010
We never even knew about this little store downtown. They were small, but good. These are actually Christian's favorite so far and he keeps asking when we will be going back. Randy and I vote for The Cupcake Store as the best up until this point.

Back on Blogger

After some subtle hints from family members that I needed to post again, I switched to tumblr last summer. I did not like their format, so I am moving back to here. My goal is to give a brief look at what has happened in the 2 years since I stopped posting on this site.
Christian swam a lot, Andrea and I got our Masters, the twins graduated from kindergarten and we went camping.
We went to Las Vegas with all of the cousins, we visited family and we took the kids sledding and snowboarding. That is about it. So I plan on blogging more this year. I have missed it.
Take care!!
